2NT in competition

In competition 2NT is natural only:

- if we overcall their weak 2 in a major opening bid - Gladiator follow up    ➲

- in all transfer sequences where 

    - partner opened and RHO overcalled or doubled

    - LHO opened and partner overcalled or doubled

    - exception: 1M - (1/2oM/m) - 2NT - shows 4 card M support

In all other situations 2NT bid is never natural. These situations are:

- Lebensohl    ➲

- Rubensohl    ➲

In all other situations 2NT bid is "scramble" (two places to play), direct bid is TP.

Example: after 

1♣ - (dbl) - 1♦ - (1♠) - 

pass - (2♠) - dbl/pass - (pass)

2NT    =     scramble (♣ + ♦)

3♣/♦/♥    =    TP
