Idyllically situated in a horse-shoe shaped bay, Umag, the pearl of the Umag riviera, offers guests the greatest possible comfort and accommodation. The town is full of contrasts, full of the juxtaposition of the old and the new, and it speaks picturesquely of its past to visitors.

   For those who love horses and the wonderfully attractive and challenging sport of riding, the ''Juricanija'' equestrian center in the tourist resort, ''Stella Maris'', offers the rare experience of being able to ride out in untouched nature, along beaches on the Umag riviera.
   For those less accustomed to this sport, there is a riding school run by the highly professional staff of the equestrian center which also provides training for horses and stables with complete care for horses and veterinary services.Many hotels and resorts have been built along the coast itself which in addition to firstrate accommodation, offer various entertainment programs as well as local Istrian specialities.
   Excursions can be organized to the Lim fyord, a unique geomorphic phenomena (famous for its exceptional oysters) as well as to the interior of Istria, to the small, picturesque towns of Momjan, Motovun, Buzet, Grožnjan and others which seem to have been frozen in the last century, and whose pubs and restaurants offer local specialities, which go well with the unique bouquet of wines like pinot, malvazija, and borgunja. In the evenings, guests can have fun in the many restaurants, out door cafes, and discos or can try their luck in the casino.
